Fall is here and with it chilly mornings, pumpkin spice lattes, and planting season. Flats of flowers may fly out of greenhouses in the spring, but the serious stuff goes in the ground in autumn. So although it is time to plant bulbs, think bigger and haul that oak, maple, or elm home so in the future you have beauty, shade, and a habitat for wild life in your yard.

Now for the best part of fall, nurseries have great prices on plants so their inventory is minimal for the winter. They know it is prime planting time and they are ready. So rip out those tired looking annuals, rake a few leaves, and plant!
