Fall Planting!

Fall is here and with it chilly mornings, pumpkin spice lattes, and planting season. Flats of flowers may fly out of greenhouses in the spring, but the serious stuff goes in the ground in autumn. So although it is time to plant bulbs, think bigger and haul that oak, maple, or elm home so in the future you have beauty, shade, and a habitat for wild life in your yard.

[if !supportLists]2) [endif]* Perennials and grasses can be installed until mid October (sometimes beyond that if temperatures stay mild).

[if !supportLists]3) [endif]*Cool temperatures, consistent moisture and the onset of dormancy cause plants to work on their root growth in the fall. Giving a new plant time in the ground before the stress of summer ensures a better chance of survival and success.
